Breed, Breed, Breed

Written by Robert Seymour on April 13, 2011 - 0 Comments

Puppy mills

Puppy mill are huge commercial dog breeding operations that puts profit over the well being of the dogs they are breeding. It’s pure “breed, breed, breed”.

These puppies are usually sold to pet shops – mostly through a broker, or middleman – and sold as young as eight weeks. Their birth records are mostly falsified. Just “breed, breed, breed”.

These mills usually keep these poor dogs in overcrowded and unsanitary cages, without adequate vet care, food, water and socialization. No toys, no exercise, and very little human interaction, just breed, breed, breed.

In order to maximize profits, female dogs are bred at every opportunity with little to no recovery time between litters. It’s all about “breed, breed, breed”.

It can be stopped. It must be stopped.
- Adopt, rather than buy.
- Buy only from a reputable pet store or breeder.
- Demand laws that ban illegal breeders, and license all breeders and pet storesWe must end this vicious cycle of “breed, breed, breed”.

Pretty Isn’t Everything

by Robert Seymour on March 3, 2011 - 2 Comments

All sheltered animals are not seen as equals. Unfortunately, ”pretty” is everything, despite the fact they ALL make great pets. Pretty, as in cute, sex, size, breed, color, health and age play major roles in their potential adoption or conversely in their death. Intact females are preferred over intact males. Neutered pets are preferred overall. Tabby, white and gray [...]
