We have a new visitor. Very rare here. I saw him the other night and posted other (not so clear) pictures on several birding forums and misidentified him as a blackheaded grosbeak. This picture proved differently.

How BAD IS the economy?
May 22nd, 2008 by Robert
Today at work, we had a major involuntary layoff. It was an ugly, gut wrenching experience. Watching managers enter my building and tell good friends good bye and expecting the same was horrific. I had a woman with 18 years sobbing hysterically in my arms. Those same managers walked down my hallway towards me, nodded and passed by.
It’s something you have to experience first hand to understand how BAD it really is.
Don’t ask me why I still have a job.

Adapting to suburbia
January 26th, 2008 by Robert

Driving home from grocery shopping, I was struck by both the great blue heron and red tailed hawk across the tracks form our favorite place. Both are doing their best to adapt to the ever encroaching surburbia.
